Arriving at Jeju International Airport
The airport code for Jeju is CJU. After a domestic nonstop flight, you can head straight to your accommodation. If you are travelling from overseas, compare nonstop flights to Jeju with connections through mainland Korea. Include baggage, travel to the departure airport and transport after arrival in your total cost.

China Southern Airlines’ September 2026 notice to its official agents also lists changes and additional flights on the Jeju–Guangzhou route. Check the applicable dates before planning. Older descriptions of routes from Tokyo, Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur do not establish that nonstop flights are currently available.
For connecting flights, check the airport names first
Even if your ticket says “via Seoul”, an itinerary with arrival at Incheon (ICN) → departure from Gimpo (GMP)requires you to travel between the airports yourself. Baggage arrangements and assistance during delays depend on whether you have one connecting ticket or separate tickets.
Connecting to Jeju at Incheon Airport
If an Incheon–Jeju domestic service operates on the date of your international arrival, it can save you the transfer to Gimpo. First check your international arrival terminal, the domestic check-in location and the connection time.
Match your international arrival date to the operating date of the domestic flight to Jeju. Check dates carefully for departures or arrivals after midnight.
If you arrive at Incheon from overseas and connect to a regular domestic flight to Jeju, you must complete Korean entry procedures at Incheon. Check the entry requirements for mainland Korea before departure, and ask both airlines about collecting and rechecking baggage and checking in again. Using the same airport does not mean the flights connect automatically.
Choose flights that leave enough time before the domestic check-in deadline.
Travelling from Incheon to Gimpo for a flight to Jeju
If the Jeju flight times do not work or you choose a departure from Gimpo, enter Korea at Incheon and travel to Gimpo’s domestic terminal. On the airport railway, take the all-stop train, which stops at Gimpo Airport Station.
Complete immigration and collect your baggage at Incheon Airport.
Travel to Gimpo Airport by the airport railway all-stop train, airport bus or taxi.
Check in again and drop off your bags at Gimpo’s domestic terminal, then proceed through security and board.
Travel time between airports is only part of your total connection time. Allow time for immigration, baggage collection, walking to the platform, waiting for transport and checking in for your next flight. With separate tickets, also check your change options if a delay causes you to miss the next flight.

When your international flight arrives at Gimpo
The international and domestic terminals are separate, even though they are at the same airport. Check immigration, baggage collection, domestic check-in and the transfer between terminals.

Check flights to Jeju on your travel date and whether baggage can be checked through. A late arrival may require an overnight stay near the airport.

When nonstop flights from your nearest airport do not fit your schedule
As well as connecting flights, compare taking a train or express bus to an airport with a nonstop service to Jeju. Include the time and cost of reaching that mainland airport.
Overseas → Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, etc. → Jeju
When departing from an overseas city without a nonstop flight to Jeju
Distinguish airline connecting tickets from self-transfer itineraries. Check whether you must enter the transit country or region and collect your baggage, and check the entry requirements for your nationality.
If you travel from overseas, check the entry conditions for Jeju and mainland Korea against your actual itinerary. Rules for arriving directly on Jeju must not be assumed to apply when you enter Korea at a mainland airport and continue on a domestic flight.
Compare ferries if you are bringing a car, travelling with a lot of luggage or would like to rest on board. To compare this with flying and renting a car, include travel time and costs to the port, passenger fares, cabin costs and vehicle transport.
Consider this route if you plan to take a train to Mokpo or bring your own car. Departure piers may differ by vessel. On the date checked, the official schedule showed some vessels undergoing inspection while others were operating.
Include the overland journey to Wando when comparing routes. The operator’s current information lists Gold Stella as departing from Wando. Do not confuse this with older information about departures from Yeosu.
An option to compare when bringing a vehicle from eastern Jeollanam-do. The route was confirmed in 2026 public agency data; check the sailing on your travel date again with the operator.
An option for travellers from Gyeongsangnam-do or those seeking an alternative to a ferry from Busan. For overnight sailings, distinguish the day you board from the day you arrive on Jeju when booking accommodation.
For Mokpo and Jindo, this guide checked the operators’ published schedules on the research date; for Wando, the operator’s official information; and for Nokdong and Samcheonpo, operator information and 2026 Korea Maritime Transportation Safety Authority data. A listed route does not guarantee a sailing on your travel date.
A Jeju Tourism Organization report records the passenger route as having ended after December 2022. This research did not confirm that it had resumed.

Cargo vessel support has been announced since the passenger service was suspended in January 2024. Distinguish freight and vehicle delivery services from passenger travel.

Check availability for passenger tickets and vehicle space separately.
Check each vessel’s conditions for vehicle type and height, pets, bicycles and motorcycles.
Check cabin types and shared facilities, and whether you can check into your accommodation after a late-night arrival.
Save the vessel name and the actual boarding terminal in your map app.
On the day of sailing
Recheck notices about weather, scheduled inspections and temporary service suspensions.
Prepare the documents required by the ferry operator, such as identification and supporting documents for children travelling with you.
Vehicle check-in may close before passenger boarding, so follow the ferry operator’s recommended arrival time.
Plan onward transport from Jeju Port to your accommodation, including buses, taxis or travel to a rental car pickup point.
International cruises are a separate type of trip. Cruises calling at Jeju Port or Gangjeong Port have different embarkation and disembarkation conditions from scheduled domestic ferries. Do not assume you can simply buy a one-way journey and leave the cruise on Jeju. Check the product’s boarding and disembarkation ports and immigration procedures.
First compare nonstop flights from nearby airports and their arrival times on Jeju. Consider how much time you will actually have to explore after reaching your accommodation.
Family trips or travel with lots of luggage
Compare the total cost of flights plus a rental car with taking your own car by ferry. Include baggage, child seats, cabins and travel to the port.
Travelling from overseas
Compare a nonstop flight to Jeju, a connection at Incheon, and travel from Incheon to Gimpo, in that order. Check whether you need to change airports.
Trips without a car
Choose accommodation near airport bus or express bus stops. Keep journeys to distant parts of the island to a minimum on your arrival and departure days.
Do I have to travel to Gimpo Airport after arriving at Incheon from overseas?
Direct Incheon–Jeju flights resumed in May 2026, providing a connection option at Incheon Airport. If you arrive at Incheon from overseas and connect to a regular domestic flight to Jeju, you must complete Korean entry procedures at Incheon. Before departure, check mainland Korean entry requirements and Jeju-bound services for your travel dates, and ask both airlines about baggage and check-in procedures. If you choose a flight departing from Gimpo, allow separate time to travel between airports.
Can I take my own car on a ferry to Jeju?
Yes, on ferries that carry vehicles. Passenger tickets and vehicle reservations are separate. Check the vehicle type, dimensions and fuel requirements, vehicle check-in deadline and return sailing with the ferry operator.
Can I use the former Jeju ferry services from Busan, Incheon or Yeosu?
Do not assume that routes in older guides are still available to book. The research for this guide did not confirm that the former Jeju passenger services from these three ports had resumed after ending or being suspended. Check current ferry booking pages and compare alternatives such as Samcheonpo and Wando.
