Scheduled island ferry
Udo
Seongsanpo Port or Jongdal Port (Dumunpo) → Cheonjin Port or Haumokdong Port. Check the actual route and arrival port.
ISLAND JOURNEYS
Plan how to get around after landing and how to return. Choose island trips from Jeju to suit the ports, transport and your companions' needs.
Travel planning at a glance
Plan a Jeju island trip by choosing your departure port and return sailing first, then adding access on Jeju, ticketing, ferry waits, island transport, meals and return connections. Check conditional exceptions for taking vehicles to Udo. Do not assume that landings on protected islands, tidal access or unverified routes are available.

For Udo, Biyangdo in Hallim, Gapado, Marado and Chujado, choose the operator and actual departure port first. For Chagwido, distinguish tours including a landing from on-board cruises. Do not turn an island without a verified ferry service into a scheduled-ferry itinerary, or describe marine sightseeing around protected islands as unrestricted landing.
Calculate the itinerary by adding each part: travel from accommodation or the airport to the port, parking, ticketing, ferry waits, return sailings, island walks and transport, meals and breaks, and onward travel after returning to Jeju. The visit durations below are editorial references; the departures you actually purchase take priority.
Scheduled island ferry
Seongsanpo Port or Jongdal Port (Dumunpo) → Cheonjin Port or Haumokdong Port. Check the actual route and arrival port.
Scheduled passenger ferry
Unjin Port (Moseulpo South Port) → Gapado. Do not confuse it with Moseulpo North Port.
Scheduled passenger ferry
Unjin Port → Marado. Departures from Sanisudong/Songaksan Port are also listed, but check that operator's service for your travel date separately.
Scheduled island ferry
Biyangdo pier at Hallim Port → Biyangdo Port. This is separate from Biyangdo beside Udo.
Scheduled passenger ferry; consider an overnight stay first
Jeju Port → Chuja Port (Sangchujado) or Sinyang Port (Hachujado). Check the actual vessel, port and boarding pier at Jeju Port on the booking screen. Sangchujado and Hachujado are connected by Chuja Bridge, so allow for overland travel between ports.
Operator-run tour; landing depends on the option
Jagunae Port → a visit to Chagwido or a cruise around it → Jagunae Port.
Look up public transport using your departure accommodation, stop and port, and add the final walk and transfer waits. If travelling directly from Jeju Airport to a ferry, allow separately for baggage collection and leaving the airport. Arriving at a bus stop does not mean you have completed ferry boarding.
Start by comparing a rental-car plan that leaves the car at the port on Jeju, checking the actual car park, hours, charges and retrieval of the car. Plan a vehicle exception for Udo or vehicle shipping to Chujado only when the entry conditions, rental agreement, insurance and vehicle reservation all fit.
Arrange taxis to the port and from your return port to accommodation separately. On-demand taxis at outlying ports and accommodation pickups are not guaranteed, so confirm necessary journeys with a provider in advance. Check how you would change bus connections, pickups and vehicle return arrangements if your ferry is delayed.
A date-specific timetable, the ability to book, actual sailing and a secured seat are different things. If you miss the last boat, do not assume another operator will accept your ticket or immediately run an extra boat. For cancellations or delays, check operator guidance and accommodation alternatives. Avoid a tightly timed island trip just before a flight.
Travel from accommodation in Seongsan or Gujwa to the actual ticket office and boarding point at Seongsanpo Port or Jongdal Port. For public transport, look up transfers and the walk from the stop based on your accommodation and departure port. With a rental car, check available parking and charges at the port on Jeju. Do not assume parking conditions are the same at both ports.
Seongsanpo Port or Jongdal Port (Dumunpo) → Cheonjin Port or Haumokdong Port. Check the actual route and arrival port.
Official tourism information gives approximately 10–15 minutes. This guide does not establish fixed first or last sailings.
Check Udo Ferry's instructions on boarding declaration forms and identification. If your departure and arrival ports differ between Seongsan and Jongdal, plan how to retrieve the car left on Jeju. Udo Ferry information: 064-782-5670.
Vehicles brought from outside Udo are subject to driving restrictions from 2026-08-01 to 2029-07-31. Ordinary rental cars from outside the island must not be presented as permitted by default. Conditional exceptions include Class 1 low-emission electric or hydrogen rental cars, rental cars used by people with mobility needs, and rental cars used by guests staying on Udo. Check the required documentation, the rental company's permission to take the car to the island, and insurance coverage together. A product being called an electric car does not establish eligibility for an exception.
Compare local buses, separate sightseeing bus products, bicycles, rental transport for which you meet the requirements for the vehicle type, and walking selected sections. The official list labels 921 for odd-numbered dates and 922 for even-numbered dates, but this differs from the detailed route names and endpoints, so recheck the service and direction for your travel date. Do not assume a sightseeing bus pass is valid on local buses. For bicycles and powered rental vehicles, check the vehicle type, licence requirements, liability insurance and return deadline.
arrival port → Seobinbaeksa → Udobong or Geommeolle → Hagosudong → the port for your booked or purchased return sailing. Visit fewer places on a half-day trip. Allow a longer stay if visiting both Udobong and Geommeolle or adding Biyangdo beside Udo. Do not try to complete Olle Route 1-1 and visit several attractions within the same short period.
Allow half a day to a full day for general sightseeing. To complete Olle Route 1-1, add ferry travel, ticketing, meals and breaks to the official 13.2 km and 4–5 hours of walking.
Save both the departure port on the island and the arrival port on Jeju for your return sailing. If you return to a different port, allow a separate journey to retrieve the car you left on Jeju. Recheck ferry and island transport operations during your visit, and compare earlier return sailings rather than rushing for the last boat.
Switch to an itinerary in Seongsan or Gujwa on Jeju, checking opening conditions and the effects of strong winds at each place. On the day of your flight, leave enough time to accommodate delays to your return sailing.
Check for your travel date · Check the documentation required for a vehicle exception and the conditions for using island buses and rental transport on your travel date.
Travel from Daejeong or Moseulpo to the ticket office at Unjin Port (Moseulpo South Port). Check that you have not saved Moseulpo North Port on your map. For buses, add transfers and walking time from the actual arrival stop to the ticket office. With a rental car, check parking conditions at Unjin Port and the route from parking to ticketing.
Unjin Port (Moseulpo South Port) → Gapado. Do not confuse it with Moseulpo North Port.
The operator's general information gives approximately 10 minutes each way.
Wonderful Island operator guidance: advance booking is recommended; website bookings close 1 day before travel. Reserved passengers should reach the ticket office 40 minutes before departure; ticketing closes 10 minutes before departure. All adults need original identification and a boarding declaration form. A return time may be assigned, so overnight visitors should tell the ticket office before buying tickets. 064-794-5490.
Visitors should plan to leave their car at the port on Jeju and board as foot passengers. Current evidence has not been established to state that ordinary rental cars can be shipped or that a blanket legal ban applies.
Walking is the main way to explore. Bicycle rental is optional; check local operations and rules. Compare the level coastal and village paths with Olle Route 10-1.
Gapado pier → coastal path → village and stone-wall lanes → seasonal field scenery → pier. The official Olle Route 10-1 is 4.2 km and takes 1–2 hours, excluding ferry travel, ticketing and meals. Green barley scenery varies with spring growth and harvesting; the same view cannot be promised year-round.
Official Olle Route 10-1: 4.2 km, 1–2 hours. Allow separate time for ticketing at the port, return ferry travel and meals, and plan around your purchased return sailing.
On Gapado, finish walking, meals and bicycle returns in time for your purchased return sailing and its pier. After returning to Jeju, connect from Unjin Port to your accommodation by bus, taxi or the car you parked. A ferry's arrival time alone does not guarantee a bus connection; add time for sailing delays and transfers.
Switch to meals and sightseeing around Moseulpo or Daejeong on Jeju. Consider visiting both Gapado and Marado in one day only as a separate option when the return to Jeju, new ticketing and each return sailing actually fit together.
Check for your travel date · Follow the operator's latest sailing information and the departure you actually purchased when planning your return time.
For departures from Unjin Port, go to the relevant ticket office at Moseulpo South Port in Daejeong. Information also mentions departures from Sanisudong/Songaksan Port, but this research did not verify that operator's current operations. Treat Unjin Port and Sanisudong as different boarding points, and look up bus, taxi or rental-car access to the port on your ticket.
Unjin Port → Marado. Departures from Sanisudong/Songaksan Port are also listed, but check that operator's service for your travel date separately.
The operator departing from Unjin Port gives approximately 30 minutes each way.
For Unjin Port, the same operator as Gapado gives guidance on reservations, identification, arrival 40 minutes before departure and ticketing closing 10 minutes before departure. If the departure ports differ, do not assume that the same ticket permits a return to another port.
Plan to explore on foot and leave your car at the port on Jeju. Do not assume that ordinary visitors can take their vehicles on the ferry.
Walk from the pier to restaurants, the southernmost-point monument and the lighthouse area. Reduce slopes, pier steps and cliff sections to suit your companions' mobility.
assigned pier → a meal in the village → southernmost-point monument → lighthouse area → coastal walk → return pier. Allowing approximately 1.5–2 hours for walking and a meal is an editorial suggestion; the return sailing you purchased determines how long you may actually stay. Reduce sections with pier steps, slopes or cliffs to suit your companions' mobility.
An editorial suggestion allows approximately 1.5–2 hours for walking and a meal on the island. Your booked departure sailing takes priority in determining your actual available time.
On the island, first check the pier and boarding time for your assigned return sailing. Do not assume that a ticket for a different departure port allows you to board a boat serving another port. After arriving on Jeju, plan onward travel to your car at the original port or to your accommodation by bus or taxi.
Switch to an itinerary around Daejeong or Songaksan on Jeju, checking coastal wind conditions and trail restrictions. This research did not establish a direct ferry connection to Gapado, so the two islands are not presented as a directly connected boat itinerary.
Check for your travel date · For Sanisudong/Songaksan Port departures, check that operator's sailing and booking conditions for your travel date separately.
Travel from accommodation in Hallim to the Biyangdo ticket office and boarding point at Hallim Port. Seeing the island from Hyeopjae does not mean the ferry departs from Hyeopjae Beach. For buses, add the final walk to the port. With a rental car, check parking conditions at the port on Jeju. This island is separate from Biyangdo beside Udo.
Biyangdo pier at Hallim Port → Biyangdo Port. This is separate from Biyangdo beside Udo.
Korea Tourism Organization (한국관광공사) information gives approximately 15 minutes.
At the Hallim Port ticket office, check the operator and both outward and return sailings together. Do not assume that a return ticket is valid on another operator's boat.
For a typical sightseeing trip, park at the port and explore on foot. Do not assume that vehicle entry is either permitted or prohibited.
Choose coastal paths or the Biyangbong viewpoint and lighthouse direction to suit your fitness. Do not assume taxis or rental cars are always available.
Biyangdo Port → village and coastal path → Peollangmot area → optional viewpoint path on Biyangbong → port. Use a visit of about 2–3 hours on the island as a reference, adding separate time for access to the port on Jeju, ticketing, return ferry travel and meals.
Official tourism information describes a visit of about 2–3 hours. Ticketing, return ferry travel and meals from Jeju require separate time.
When buying tickets, check return sailings and the last boat with the same operator. Do not assume a return ticket is valid on another operator's boat. After arriving at Hallim Port, continue to your accommodation by bus, taxi or your parked car. If time allows, choose either Hyeopjae or Geumneung as an extra stop.
If sailings are cancelled or the return service does not fit, switch to an itinerary in Hallim on Jeju. Older accounts give conflicting fares and last sailings, so this guide does not establish a current fare or last boat.
Check for your travel date · At ticketing, check each operator's current fares, return sailings, last boat and the scope of use of its return tickets.
Check the actual vessel and boarding pier at Jeju Port on the booking screen. Allow time for bus or taxi access from Jeju Airport or your accommodation and for ticketing. Chuja Port (Sangchujado) and Sinyang Port (Hachujado) are different ports; the two islands are connected by Chuja Bridge. Calculate travel between your arrival port and accommodation separately.
Crossing times vary by vessel and calling pattern, so no single fixed time is given.
Seaworld's display for 2026-10-19 showed Santa Monica departing Jeju via Chuja at 16:20 and Chuja → Jeju at 09:10. This is an observation for that date, not a future timetable. That particular outward and return combination does not allow a day trip from Jeju. Information: 1577-3567; check dates with KSSA.
Check separately whether your ferry can carry vehicles, vehicle reservations, and your rental agreement, insurance and loading conditions. Do not assume that every ferry to Chujado carries vehicles.
Compare local bus 910 with walking selected sections. Include accommodation pickups or vehicle tours only when actually confirmed in advance, and do not assume taxis are always available. Check the weekend and public-holiday exceptions for the 07:00 and 18:00 departures from Daeseo-ri separately from other services.
arrival and travel to accommodation → a walk around Sangchujado village and the lighthouse → one Olle route, either 18-1 or 18-2, on a full sightseeing day → the actual departure port. Official Route 18-1 is 11.4 km, takes 4–5 hours and is rated difficult; 18-2 is 9.7 km, takes 3–4 hours and is rated difficult. Walking both requires 7–9 hours of walking alone, so consider a longer stay.
Official Olle Route 18-1: 11.4 km, 4–5 hours, difficult. Route 18-2: 9.7 km, 3–4 hours, difficult. A 1-night, 2-day trip may be possible if return sailings fit, but an afternoon arrival and departure the following morning leave little sightseeing time. First compare a 2-night, 3-day stay to allow a full day.
Check whether your departure port is Chuja Port or Sinyang Port, then arrange the relevant bus 910 service, a walk or a pickup confirmed in advance from your accommodation. The official timetable marks departures from Daeseo-ri at 07:00 and 18:00 as not operating on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays; this does not mean the whole route stops at weekends. The timetable has no effective date entered, so recheck operations for your travel date and extra services connecting with ferry arrivals.
Bad weather may delay your return, so consider extra nights and onward transport on Jeju. Avoid booking a flight too soon after your return to Jeju. If sailings are cancelled, check the operator's guidance and accommodation availability.
Check for your travel date · For a day trip combining different operators, check that the actual outward and return sailings and travel between ports all fit your travel date.
Travel from the Gosan area to your booked operator's ticket office and meeting point at Jagunae Port. Do not save a land-parcel address on Chagwido as your driving destination. Check the walk or taxi connection from your bus stop to the port. With a rental car, check available parking at the port and your meeting time.
Jagunae Port → a visit to Chagwido or a cruise around it → Jagunae Port.
Official tourism information gives approximately 10 minutes to reach the island. The total duration of a walking tour or cruise is separate.
Do not treat this as a scheduled passenger ferry allowing independent entry and an all-day stay. Check tour bookings, departure, whether landing is included, weather cancellations and return times.
Leave your car on Jeju and travel on the operator's boat.
For departures including a landing, walk on designated trails and return on the assigned boat. Check separately whether on-board cruises and sunset departures include a landing.
meet at Jagunae Port → choose a tour including a landing or an on-board cruise → return on the assigned boat. Tourism information giving approximately 10 minutes to reach the island is different from the product's total duration. Check the actual operator's guidance for current departures, prices and landing conditions.
Check the total duration of landing tours and on-board cruises for the product and departure you book. Do not count only the crossing time as the whole visit; add meeting, boarding, walking and reboarding time.
For tours including a landing, follow the operator's reboarding time and permitted trails. This is not a scheduled ferry service that lets you stay freely all day. After returning to Jagunae Port, connect to your accommodation by bus, taxi or your parked car. Do not assume an on-demand taxi will always be available at the port.
If weather cancels the trip, compare sightseeing around Gosan or Suwolbong on Jeju, checking wind conditions and trail restrictions. A product name mentioning sunset or dolphins does not guarantee landing, sunset views or encounters with wild dolphins.
Check for your travel date · Check whether your booked product includes landing, its permitted trails, meeting and reboarding arrangements, and weather-cancellation conditions.
The following islands differ from places that ordinary visitors can freely reach by ferry and explore on foot. Where permissions or operations have not been verified, they are not presented as confirmed landing itineraries. Check actual operator and authority guidance for the availability of marine activities too.
First travel to Udo, then walk along the northeastern link to visit. This is not the island served by ferries from Hallim Port.
Walking and sunrise views. Present camping as a separate itinerary only after checking local operations, bookings, weather and facility-use conditions.
Seogwipo Port → Saeyeongyo Bridge → Saeseom walking path → Seogwipo Port. Leave your car on Jeju and walk.
Coastal and woodland walks. Do not assume illumination hours and Saeseom path opening hours are the same.
Consider access from the Gangjeong coast only on days when the sea path is exposed, after checking on-site restrictions and enough time for a return crossing.
Walk only during permitted periods. General low-tide times alone do not establish that you can cross. If access is restricted or the path is insufficiently exposed, view the island from the coast instead.
Check marine sightseeing and permitted activities through products operated from the Seogwipo Port area.
Do not present this as an ordinary walking destination. Official tourism guidance lists permission to visit the upper part of the island separately from procedures for marine activities and fishing-vessel reporting. That procedural information is dated 2024-03-29, so check current conditions with the relevant authority.
Check the permitted scope of marine sightseeing, fishing or diving products from Beophwan Port or the Seogwipo area.
Do not assume unrestricted landing or rental-car sightseeing. Do not extend older guidance for Munseom into automatic permission covering all of Beomseom.
Consider views from the Seogwipo or Bomok coast, or operator-run activities.
Steep terrain and protected vegetation mean this should not be assumed to be an ordinary walking route. Check landing, reporting and sailing conditions first.
View the islands from the Sagye or Songaksan coast, or check cruise, fishing and diving products actually offered by operators.
Do not create an itinerary assuming a scheduled passenger ferry and unrestricted island walks. Departure ports and whether landing is included must be checked for each product.
The basic suggestion is to view the island scenery from the Bukchon coast.
This research did not verify scheduled ferries for tourists or general landing operations. For specialist fishing and similar activities, check the permitted scope, operator and return arrangements separately.
A possible island view from the coast southeast of Seogwipo. Before visiting the island itself, check with operators and the relevant authority.
The island's location was confirmed on an official tourism map, but current tourist ferries and landing programs were not verified. It is not included as a confirmed itinerary.
The basic suggestion is to view the island and its native crinum lily habitat from the Hado coast.
Do not interpret low-tide access mentioned in older introductions as current permission for unrestricted entry to the island or its plant colonies. Plan coastal observation until management rules have been checked.
Treat this inhabited island associated with Chujado as a separate candidate.
Current sailings open to tourists, connecting ports, return arrangements and accommodation conditions were not verified. Do not automatically include it in a general Sangchujado and Hachujado itinerary.
Treat this inhabited island associated with Chujado as a separate candidate.
Current sailings open to tourists, connecting ports, return arrangements and accommodation conditions were not verified. Do not present it as a scheduled tourist route directly from Jeju.
The latest official Udo notice specifying age criteria and document formats for mobility-related exceptions was not obtained. An exception in tourism guidance does not automatically establish your eligibility; check with the Udo-myeon office, ferry operator and rental company. Differences between the Udo local bus list and detailed route pages are not presented as resolved.
Before booking, check current operations by the Marado operator at Sanisudong; each Hallim–Biyangdo operator's current fares, last sailings and ticket interchangeability; return sailings for your Chujado travel date, including other operators, and vehicle capacity; and current Chagwido departures and prices. Access to the Seogeondo sea path and protected islands is not presented as available without checking that day's restrictions and permissions.
Transport and regional information: . This editorial guide compares official guidance with material available on the research date. It is not a product for which bookings, sailings, opening conditions and final costs have been confirmed for your actual travel date.
You can start by planning to leave your car at the port on Jeju and compare walking, buses and rental transport on the island. Check conditional exceptions for rental cars from outside Udo. For Chujado, check vehicle-carrying vessels, vehicle reservations, rental agreements and insurance separately.
First compare a trip that gives you enough time on one island. A direct connection between Gapado and Marado was not established. To combine them, the return to Jeju, new ticketing, each return sailing, meals and waiting must actually fit together. The length of a Chujado stay also depends on the outward and return vessels available for your travel date.
Coordinate the return port, boarding deadline, island transport, and buses, pickups or car retrieval after arrival on Jeju. Do not assume tickets are interchangeable between operators or that extra sailings will run. Prepare accommodation and onward transport alternatives for weather delays or cancellations.
Low-tide times alone do not guarantee access to Seogeondo. Check actual exposure of the sea path, local permission and enough time for the return crossing. Marine sightseeing and specialist activities around Munseom, Beomseom and Seopseom are separate from landing permission. Unverified tourist routes are not presented as confirmed itineraries.
