Choosing villages to stop in along the eastern coast

Choose a few sandy shores, harbors or viewpoints rather than fitting every beach into one day. Include time for parking, photos and breaks at each stop, plus travel back to your accommodation from the last one.

Choose villages with different scenery, such as Woljeong, Hado and Jongdal, to compare the eastern coast's changing views. For sunrise, select one stopping point the day before to simplify your journey.

Travel conditions for sunrise viewing and family drives

For sunrise viewing, confirm the actual viewpoint and parking the day before rather than stopping at arbitrary points on dark roads. The coastal road does not have continuous sidewalks throughout; keep family walks within permitted pedestrian areas.

Even when companions want to look at the sea during a drive, do not distract the driver. Observe and take photos from land after stopping in permitted parking.

Saving Gimnyeong, Woljeong and Jongdal as separate destinations

The coastal road's reference address is not a single entrance. Save each beach or harbor as its own destination, then choose the direction from Gimnyeong toward Seongsan or the reverse according to your accommodation.

After Haemaji Coastal Road, consider Gimnyeong Beach or Seongsan Ilchulbong. Rather than fitting them all into one visit, choose one to start with according to your direction of travel and your companions' energy, and check the actual transport connections.
