Sanggari scenery among palms and cycads

Sanggari Palm Forest is a palm-viewing space in Aewol. Sky above the trees and spreading leaves create a setting different from coastal flower gardens. It suits changing photographic angles among trees rather than rushing between distant views.

Official tourism information mentions cycads, palms, shaded benches and photo areas. Close views of leaves differ from distant rows of trees. Do not push plants aside or enter unauthorized areas between trees to reach a photo spot.

A short palm-garden walk and rest in Aewol

Our editorial suggestion is 30 minutes–1 hour for walks and photographs. Plan a small garden visit rather than a long recreation-forest trail. Check current access and ticket conditions; do not expect a wide range of facility activities at all times.

Even with palm shade, summer heat can continue along access routes; bring water and a hat. If planning many photographs, avoid tightly scheduled later stops on Aewol's coast. Trees and seasonal flowers can differ from archive images.

Family photographs and pet conditions

With children, take a short walk observing palm-leaf shapes and tree heights. For strollers or wheelchairs, ask first about actual gravel surfaces and entrance level changes. A description of easy access to photo spots does not guarantee every section.

For pets, check current accompaniment, restraint and waste-cleanup conditions ahead. At photo spots between trees, take turns without blocking your group or other visitors. Allow separate time for garden rest and travel to the coast.

From Sanggari Palm Forest to Gwakji and Aewol's coast

The destination is 애월읍 고하상로 326. The Korea Tourism Organization (한국관광공사) description states there is no dedicated parking; ask about usable parking before visiting. This does not permit unrestricted roadside parking. Follow local parking guidance and keep traffic routes clear.

Choose Gwakji Beach or Sinchang Windmill Coastal Road next according to your route. Continuing west from Aewol or Hallim offers more coastal scenery. After ample photographs in the palm garden, leave travel time and choose a short coastal walk.
