Tadao Ando’s architecture and Bonstar exhibitions at Bonte Museum
Bontae combines traditional crafts and contemporary art with architecture shaped by light, water and exposed concrete. Observe changing walls, waterways and open views while moving between works, rather than viewing artworks only in sequence. The architecture is part of the exhibition, so this is not presented as a free building-only route.
The operator’s current guide lists Gallery 1 for traditional crafts, Gallery 2 for contemporary art, Gallery 3 for “친제설찬,” Gallery 4 for traditional funeral rites, Gallery 5 for special exhibitions, plus Bonstar and the sculpture park. Admission, hours and docent reservations
Official hours are 10:00–18:00 with last admission at 17:00. Individual permanent-exhibition fees are KRW 30,000 for adults, KRW 20,000 for youths and KRW 10,000 for children. Check the official fee table for ages, discounts, documentation and special-program inclusions. Our editorial estimate is at least 1.5–2 hours for exhibitions, architecture and breaks, with more time for works you want to linger over.
The operator’s current guide describes an 11:00 general docent session booked through Naver. A free QR audio guide is also available, so bring personal earphones. Recheck docent dates and places on the booking screen. General admission, docent sessions and separate café reservations are not the same product.
Preparing for architectural routes, photography and children
Viewing the architecture includes movement between galleries and through outdoor areas, so it is not an entirely indoor rainy-day visit. We suggest rain gear and comfortable shoes. Even if stroller or wheelchair rental is listed, not every architectural route offers equal convenience; ask the ticket office about the actual route you can use.
Follow current rules for photography, food and pets in each space. The official FAQ includes restrictions such as no photography in the special-exhibition gallery. Other visitors’ photos do not mean every work may be photographed. With children, choose works to view without touching, shorten visits to mirrors or light displays if uncomfortable, and leave room for others to pass.

Combining Bontae with gardens and Jungmun from Andeok’s uplands
Search for Bonte Museum at 안덕면 산록남로 762번길 69 and check the ticketing and visitor entrance. An upland bus stop nearby does not mean direct arrival at the galleries. Compare the operator’s directions with current bus information, allowing for transfers, walking and return services.
Camellia Hill offers seasonal gardens after architecture and exhibitions, while Yeomiji in Jungmun offers greenhouse and outdoor garden comparisons. Each needs separate travel and last-admission checks. If booking a Bontae program, plan one garden before or after its time, and avoid arriving so late that both art and architecture must be rushed.
