Jeju Stone Park

Jeju Stone Park presents everyday uses of stone and the Seolmundae Halmang myth through museums and an outdoor park. Choose areas of interest rather than trying to finish both the extensive grounds and indoor Seolmundae Halmang Exhibition Hall quickly. Check Children’s Hall conditions separately from general exhibitions.

Travel planning at a glance

Plan separate visits to the Stone Museum, outdoor stone culture, thatched village and Seolmundae Halmang Exhibition Hall. Check Tuesday–Sunday hours of 09:00–18:00 and Monday closure, and follow date-specific official admission and Children’s Hall conditions. The suggested 2–3 hours is an editorial estimate, not time to complete every space.

Jeju through the Stone Museum and Seolmundae Halmang Exhibition Hall

The park introduces areas including the Garden of Mythology, outdoor stone-culture exhibitions and a traditional Jeju thatched village. Look beyond dol hareubang statues to compare how stone served farming, homes and village tools. Connecting outdoor statues and houses with museum exhibitions helps explain Jeju’s stone culture.

Seolmundae Halmang Exhibition Hall, opened in June 2025, adds indoor exhibitions on Jeju folklore, history and mythology. Decide the balance of indoor and outdoor viewing from the start rather than fitting it briefly into time left after walking the extensive grounds. Its Children’s Hall has different conditions from ordinary permanent exhibitions.

Stone and everyday life

Explore Jeju homes, farming and everyday tools as well as dol hareubang statues.

The Seolmundae Halmang myth

Follow the exhibition narrative to connect folklore, history and mythology. Check whether interpretation is available for your visit session.

Stone Park hours and Children’s Hall conditions

Official visitor information lists Tuesday–Sunday hours of 09:00–18:00 and Monday closure. Check date-specific operator notices for ticketing deadlines, fees and temporary closures. Given the park’s size, the suggested 2–3 hours is an editorial estimate, not a guarantee of completing every exhibition.

Check separate Children’s Hall conditions for ages, guardians, socks, capacity and weekend or public-holiday reservations. Do not assume general admission guarantees immediate access to every activity. Recheck booking functions and actual sessions on the park website or with the Children’s Hall.

Routes for children and rainy days at Stone Park

With children, choose outdoor stone-shape observation or folklore and mythology exhibitions according to their interests. The extensive grounds require substantial walking, so we suggest combining one exhibition with rest. If choosing the Children’s Hall, plan its eligible session separately from general exhibition time.

In rain, increase the indoor portion of your visit, but you still need to move between parking, galleries and outdoor spaces. It is not entirely sheltered; bring an umbrella, outer layer and shoes with good grip. Follow on-site restrictions on outdoor viewing in strong winds.

Reaching Stone Park and connecting to Gyorae’s forest

Check Jeju Stone Park’s entrance, parking and ticketing area at 조천읍 남조로 2023 on a map. Nearby Gyorae Natural Recreation Forest is a separate facility with different tickets and routes. Add the approach time from the bus stop to the actual start of your visit.

Adding Gyorae Natural Recreation Forest or Saryeoni Forest Trail increases outdoor walking. Divide activity levels, for example with selected indoor Stone Park exhibitions and a short forest walk. If seeking interpretation, plan its application or session time first and add other places only if time remains.
