Contemporary art and outdoor sculpture in Jeoji

Jeju Museum of Contemporary Art introduces works by Kim Heung Soo, contemporary exhibitions and outdoor sculpture. Reading about works indoors differs from walking among trees and sculptures. Check current exhibitions and open areas, and allow time for works that interest you.

Jeoji Artists' Village mixes exhibition venues with residents' homes and artists' workspaces. You can walk around after visiting the museum, but not every building is a public gallery. Check access signs and individual hours; do not photograph through windows or enter private courtyards.

Indoor exhibitions

Check exhibition changes and open spaces. A past list of works does not guarantee what is currently on display.

Outdoor sculpture

Walk while observing the relationship between woodland and art. Reduce outdoor movement in rain or strong winds and follow restrictions.

Museum hours and partial closures in 2026

Alongside regular hours of 09:00–18:00 and Monday closures, temporary arrangements apply during exhibition installation. An official notice dated October 9, 2026 announces free admission from October 27 to November 1. Read the notice for changes to accessible areas during exhibition preparation, even when admission is free.

The temporary November 3–5 closure applies to the main building and Park Kwang Jin Hall. The notice lists the media screening hall, Kim Heung Soo Atelier, outdoor sculpture park and ecological art education hall as separately accessible. Do not assume the entire museum closes, or that every building remains open.

Rainy-day museum visits and visiting with children

Indoor art is an option on rainy days, but parking access, movement between buildings and village walks are outdoors. Bring an umbrella and shoes with good grip; in heavy rain, focus on one or two indoor areas. Do not enter closed woodland paths to view outdoor sculptures.

With children, break up your viewing time by looking together for colors and shapes. Educational activities have participation conditions separate from general admission; check dates and applications. For visits with pets or other special arrangements, read the museum's event- and day-specific rules rather than assuming the same conditions apply every day.
