Sindo Port's doguri and the southwestern sea

Sindo Port lies on the coast of Sindo-ri, Daejeong-eup. Bowl-like doguri formations in the basalt and views of the southwestern sea make it a place to observe the shapes of Jeju's rocky shoreline.

Doguri refers to naturally hollowed spaces in rock. Distinguish observing rock shapes from land from entering the water. Stories of passing dolphins do not guarantee sightings of particular animals.

Viewing scenery from the harbor and coastal park

Take a short look around the village harbor and nearby permitted visitor areas on land. If walking Olle Route 12, include time at the harbor when calculating the day's total walk and return transport.

After viewing Sindo Port's doguri formations, decide whether to add Ppulsora Park. Even when their scenery is nearby, check access and parking guidance for each visitor area separately.

Keeping a suitable distance while observing rock pools with children

Do not treat natural doguri as artificial swimming pools. With children, observe stone shapes from visitor areas on land rather than descending onto wet rocks. In high waves, reduce how far you approach the coast.

Explain the shapes of rock pools from a safe distance rather than going down to the water. Even if dolphins appear, do not follow them closely or cross into prohibited coastal areas.

A western route to Sindo-ri, Daejeong-eup

Include the harbor in an itinerary from Moseulpo and Daejeong toward Gosan. When driving along the coast, find permitted parking first rather than stopping suddenly on the road for photos.

After Sindo Port, consider Suwolbong Geo Trail or Sanbangsan Mountain. Rather than fitting them all into one visit, choose one to start with according to your direction of travel and your companions' energy, and check the actual transport connections.
