Hyeopjae Port’s lighthouse and Biyangdo views

Hyeopjae Port is a small fishing harbor beside Hyeopjae Beach. Views of Biyangdo across the sea, stone walls, fishing boats and a small lighthouse offer a coastal scene different from Hyeopjae's sandy beach.

The coast is introduced as part of Jeju Olle Route 14. After viewing the sea from the broad beach, add a short harbor visit to understand the difference between a tourist beach and residents’ workplace within Hyeopjae.

Add harbor scenery to a beach visit

Plan time at Hyeopjae Beach separately from walking around the harbor. Follow on-site restrictions and wind conditions when deciding whether to approach the end of the breakwater, and do not go closer to watch high waves.

Compare the Biyangdo views from the beach with the harbor’s lighthouse on the same outing. To visit Biyangdo, travel to Hallim Port after exploring Hyeopjae and allow separate time for boarding preparations.

Where families can view the small lighthouse

With children, view the lighthouse and Biyangdo from visitor areas on land. Keep clear of anglers and fishing-boat work routes, and do not treat the harbor edge as a play area.

People standing on a breakwater do not establish that it is currently suitable for a family walk. Return to land to view the scenery when paths are narrow or reached by waves.

Distinguish Hyeopjae’s coast from the journey to Hallim Port

Biyangdo is visible from Hyeopjae Port, but check Hallim Port guidance for the scheduled passenger-boat boarding point. Allow extra time to reach the pier when combining Hyeopjae and Geumneung sightseeing with an island trip.

After Hyeopjae Port, consider Hyeopjae Beach or Geumneung Beach. Rather than fitting them all into one visit, choose one to start with according to your direction of travel and your companions' energy, and check the actual transport connections.
