Gunsan’s horn-shaped rocks and southern coast views
Gunsan is a large hill in Andeok overlooking Daepyeong-ri’s fields and southern coast. Official information describes two summit horn-shaped rocks resembling a dragon’s head, alongside pyroclastic terrain and traces of differential erosion. Choose a visit slowly observing the directions of Hallasan, Jungmun and Sanbangsan as visibility allows, rather than aiming only for summit photos.

Choosing Jungmun gardens or Sanbangsan after Gunsan
Check Gunsan Oreum’s official approach and actual parking in Changcheon-ri, Andeok-myeon, on a map. Do not assume summit coordinates and permitted vehicle starting points are the same; follow on-site signs. For buses, compare the walk from your stop to the entrance and return services. Being near a coastal village does not necessarily mean easy access.
Yeomiji Botanical Garden offers Jungmun greenhouse and garden areas after the hill views, while Sanbangsan offers a different lava dome and designated route. Each needs separate travel, fees, closing-time and step checks. Our suggestion is to shorten the garden visit if you walked extensively at Gunsan, or consider the return climb on Sanbangsan’s steps before adding it.
