Sojeongbang Falls’ scenery as water drops toward the sea

Sojeongbang Falls is a small coastal waterfall east of Jeongbang Falls. Water drops about 7 m onto terrain close to the sea, combining waterfall and coastal scenery in southern Jeju.

Despite similar names, Sojeongbang and Jeongbang are separate waterfalls. Read descriptions of Baekjung-day waterfall bathing as historical background, not current permission to enter below the falls to bathe or stand under the water.

Choose coastal viewpoints and waterfall viewing areas

Check the viewing paths currently open and the condition of steps when choosing a route to see the falls. Do not enter restricted areas for close-up photos, and limit coastal access in poor weather.

If visiting Jeongbang and Sojeongbang on the same day, check their entrances and viewing areas separately. Allow time both for a pause at the smaller falls and for returning up the coastal steps.

A family visit mindful of steps and wet surfaces

With children or older companions, take steps slowly and watch wet surfaces. A coastal waterfall’s modest height does not guarantee safety beside the water; do not make water activities below it the default plan.

Consider both sea winds and wet surfaces during a waterfall visit. Observe flowing water from open viewing areas on land instead of going below the falls to reenact old bathing traditions.

Distinguish Donghong-dong’s coast from Jeongbang Falls

Save Sojeongbang Falls as your destination and do not confuse it with the Jeongbang Falls ticket office. For both falls, account separately for entrances, travel and steps within your Seogwipo coastal itinerary.

After Sojeongbang Falls, consider Jeongbang Falls or Saeyeongyo Bridge. Rather than fitting them all into one visit, choose one to start with according to your direction of travel and your companions' energy, and check the actual transport connections.
