Combining a coastal drive with short walks

First choose two or three villages or harbors where you want to see the sea, then decide your direction of travel. Allow time to walk briefly and rest at each stop. For separate walking trails such as Handam, calculate distance and the return arrangements separately.

Choose Gueom's stone salt pans and the coast toward Gonae as separate stops. To walk Olle Route 16, check current designated paths and starting and finishing points separately from your driving itinerary.

Conditions for roadside photos and cycling

On a family drive, park in designated spaces before taking photos from walking areas. If cycling, check actual cycling sections and ordinary vehicle traffic; do not treat the entire road shoulder as a dedicated cycleway.

Do not stop your vehicle on the road to take photos. If some companions cycle while others drive, agree on a meeting place and time to avoid rushed journeys to regroup.

Saving actual visitor stops along Aewolhaean-ro

One reference address for the coastal road is not the starting point for the entire trip. Save places such as Gueom Port and Gonae Port as individual destinations, and calculate travel time back to your accommodation from the last stop.

After Aewol Coastal Road, consider Gwakji Beach or Yongduam Rock. Rather than fitting them all into one visit, choose one to start with according to your direction of travel and your companions' energy, and check the actual transport connections.
