Below Sanbangsan, Yongmeori Coast offers close views of cliffs built from volcanic fragments and traces of wave erosion. The coastal passage is frequently restricted by high tide, waves and weather, so do not assume fixed opening times. Check access on the day and treat it as an optional Sagye-ri visit.

Yongmeori’s coast formed as waves eroded rock faces built from repeated deposits of volcanic fragments. Its appeal lies in close views of winding layers and hollowed erosion features. After entering, observe the direction and surface differences of layers from designated paths rather than focusing only on a quick circuit.
You can also explore the name’s connection to a dragon-head outline viewed from the sea and nearby commemorations of Hamel’s arrival. Distinguish legends and history from geological formation. An open coastal section does not permit free entry into cliff crevices or caves; respect signs and access boundaries.

Compare the lava dome and layered coast as different landforms.
The operator states that visiting hours change frequently with that day’s high tide and weather. Official information directs visitors to the public-attraction Instagram @6sot_official for daily updates; you can also call 064-794-2940. Do not apply a previous morning’s opening record or old blog hours directly to your visit date.
The official fee table checked on 2026-10-14 lists individual adult admission at KRW 2,000. A combined Sanbangsan option is not a reservation guaranteeing entry during a coast closure. Our editorial estimate is 45–90 minutes for viewing, ticketing and waiting. Visit only when there is enough time to return within the day’s permitted window.

The passage below the sea cliffs is close to the water and may be wet. Children and parents should wear shoes that help prevent falls and move slowly, following railings and staff guidance. Do not approach the sea or step onto rocks outside the open passage to see crashing waves.
Official information prohibits pets. Rain stopping does not mean waves or high-tide conditions have improved. If closed, change your plans rather than crossing restrictions for photos. Cameras and phones may be wetted by waves and spray; check footing and passage before taking pictures.

Confirm Yongmeori Coast’s ticketing area and official entrance in Sagye-ri below Sanbangsan before approaching. Do not stop arbitrarily on nearby roads or descend to the shore just because cliffs are visible. For buses, coordinate the walk from your stop to the official entrance, its opening window and your return service.
Sanbangsan’s designated route is an option when the coast is closed, while Songaksan’s surrounding trail offers southwestern views. Choose either according to daily restrictions and your companions’ energy. Our suggestion is to avoid making Yongmeori an essential stop; check access, then arrange your Sagye-ri geology itinerary.
